Confetti Ash
You're the bondage breaker, miraculous and merciful.
Destroy in me the gilded calf
that dilates pupils, dries out eyes.
Reach within, rip out the chaff,
extract the heart of me that lies.
Unmask my nature (evil half),
hack the mother root of cries.
From the gallows saved by grace, behold, the bondage breaker.
Build in me a roaring fire
where burning embers ne’er grow grey.
House inside it sin-soaked pyres
from which this softened heart turns ‘way.
In death to self rejoice the choirs.
Confetti ash, small price to pay.
Miraculous and merciful made possible by maker.
Grow in me a thirst for love—
unquenched desire I can drown in—
but help me keep my head above.
Majesty revealed atop distant mountain.
Hatch in homemade nests your doves,
under wings of peace we fly to crown Him.
From the gallows saved by grace, behold, the bondage breaker.
Miraculous and merciful made possible by maker.
